Istikhara is a Sunnah through which a believer asks Allah for what is best. It can be prayed for any permissible matter.
The method
- Make wudu and pray two rakat of nafl prayer.
- After the salah, recite the masnoon dua of istikhara with full attention.
- Mention your matter in your heart or words at the place indicated in the dua.
After istikhara, take the decision that your heart inclines to and trust Allah. Dreams are not a condition of istikhara.
